Voice Training for Advertising

The training Dub-School Pub Voice is an intensive one-day training course (9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.) for actors, journalists and voice artists specializing in advertising voices.

The program, 80% practical, combines advertising script analysis, vocal technique and real-life studio experience.

Participants practice various scripts with simulated client briefs, while benefiting from personalized vocal coaching.

The day ends with a detailed performance analysis and individualized feedback.

Experience in vocal interpretation: Prior practice as an actor, dubbing actor, journalist, radio host.

Basics of vocal techniques: Understanding the fundamentals of breathing, diction and voice projection.

The progress of your training

9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.: Welcome and introduction


Presentation of the participants and their experiences.

  • Objectives of the day and methodology (80% practical approach).
  • Advertiser expectations and impact of the advertising message.

10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: The specificities of advertising games

  • Radio, TV, digital advertising: differences and requirements.
  • Understanding the “advertising tone”: credibility, impact, sincerity.
  • Work on extracts from various scripts (explanatory, promotional, humorous voice).
  • First recordings with immediate feedback.

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Practical exercises – Interpretation and speed of execution

  • Recording and analysis of short advertising spots (10-30 seconds).
  • Work on the rhythm, fluidity and immediate impact of the message.
  • Speed exercise: learning and recording scripts with minimal preparation.
  • Real-time feedback and personalized adjustments.

1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Working under time constraints and stress management


  • Recording spots with constraints: imposed rhythm, limited number of takes, tight timing.
  • Concentration exercises and pressure management in the studio.
  • Techniques for maintaining a natural and effective performance under stress.

3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Creating and recording an advertisement


  • Teamwork: rapid development of an advertising concept.
  • Recording in near-real conditions.
  • Simulations with live feedback from the “client” (briefs, adjustments, retakes).
  • Personalized voice coaching and real-time adjustments.

4:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Debriefing and final analysis

  • Listening and analysis of recordings made during the day.
  • Strengths and areas for improvement for each participant.
  • Tips for going further and improving your skills in the field of advertising.

6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.: Conclusion and discussions

  • Questions/answers.
  • Participants' feedback on the day
